CHARITY OUTREACHWanda FordThe VCPGC supports two local charities: the Help & Hope Center of the Douglas/Elbert County Task Force and the Crisis Center. The purpose of the Charity Outreach Committee is to coordinate, encourage and publicize the work of these charities. The Club supports the charities through:

CHEROKEE RANCHLibby DrbalThis committee maintains the Tweet Kimball Memorial Garden at the Cherokee Ranch. Work days are held two times a month during the Summer gardening season. This committee also plans the season opening luncheon at the Garden and prepares the Garden for Fall.

COMMUNICATIONSPam GalliganThe Communications Committee is responsible for all club communications, both external and internal. Internal communications are done through the weekly eblasts and the website (www.vcpgc.org). External communications usually take the form of articles in local publications that promote the club’s activities to the community.

SERENITY GARDENNancy KirschkeThis committee maintains the Serenity Garden at Village Lake. Work days are held two times a month during the summer gardening season. This committee also plans the season opening luncheon at the garden and prepares the garden for fall. This committee also coordinates with the Castle Pines Metro District regarding the watering and mowing of the grasses near the garden.

MEMBERSHIPEthel ParringtonThe Membership Committee is responsible for registering new club members and welcoming all club members to Garden Club functions. The committee chair greets all members before each meeting and prints and provides nametags. She plans the New Member Coffee each year. She works closely with the New Member Mentor Chair and the Membership Liaison.

ParliamentarianDee MetcalfThe Parliamentarian is well versed in the rules of order and the Bylaws of the Club. She assists the President and Board members in drafting, revising and interpretation of bylaws and proper procedures for the conduct of meetings of the Board. The Parliamentarian is a non-voting member of the Board.

LIAISONS
MEMBERSHIP LIAISONLiz ClarkeThe Membership Liaison provides the membership application to the members for both new members and annual membership renewals. She receives the completed applications, collects the dues, sends the checks to the Treasurer, maintains the membership directory and distributes it to the officers and committee chairs.

MEMBERSHIP MENTORSusan McGuinnThe Membership Mentor makes sure each new member who wants a mentor has one. A mentor does the following: picks up the new member for the first few meetings, introduces the new member to club members at the meetings, sits with the new member at lunch and during the program, and helps the new member become acquainted with our various committees. The mentor will also be in touch with the new member to remind her of upcoming meetings and events.

CHARITY OUTREACH LIAISONSLinda Allstadt & Gretchen Carpenter The Charity Outreach Liaison assists the chairman of the Charity Outreach committee in a variety of ways. She may represent the chairman at Board meetings, write updates on charitable events, and assist with the multiple activities necessary to support the charity outreach initiatives – raffle tickets at meetings, door prizes, participation in the fund-raisers sponsored directly by the two charities.
