HOLIDAY BRUNCH AT CHEROKEE CASTLE
Friday, December 7, 2018
Summary by Kathy DeFore
The newly renamed Garden Club at Castle Pines Village held its Friday Christmas Garden Club Brunch on December 7th at the Cherokee Ranch and Castle. It was a beautiful day and the views from the castle were spectacular. A truly gorgeous Colorado morning! The tables were beautifully adorned with red roses in a gift box by Marilyn Cates and her committee, and, for the first time, individual rooms of the castle were professionally decorated in the spirit of Christmas. A festive holiday meal was provided by Serendipity Caterers.
The Garden Club prides itself on supporting charities and donations were collected on a Giving Tree. Wanda Ford, Chairman of the Outreach Committee, gave a moving speech about the Crisis Center which the club supports year round. James Holmes, Executive Director of the Ranch, and Marilyn Duckett, Operations Manager, both made short presentations, as well.
Everyone had a great time and club members wish to thank Michele Volkl and Darcey De Rose, co-chairs of the event, for organizing such a wonderful holiday experience!
