October 5, 2018 - "Fall Gardening and Beyond"
Presented by Colorado Master Gardener speaker, Douglas Ravnholdt, who will tell us about interesting plants and shrubs that gho in the ground as the colors change, give us tips on how to put our Castle Pines gardens to bed, suggest pruning ins-and-outs and tools to use, whether to fall clean (or not), and other thoughts on how to get the most out of our beautiful gardens fall through spring.
November 2, 2018 - "Making Your Holiday Table Spectacular"
Presented by Tasha Carrington, owner of L'Arrangement Floral Design. Create a beautiful holiday table and make homes festive with tips from Tasha on the "how to" of her simple, yet elegant, decor and table designs.
January 11, 2019 - "Grow Your Own Fresh Air"
Presented by Luan Akin, Garden Ambassador, Tagawa Gardens. Healthy houseplants make a room or office more welcoming, but did you know indoor plants can help clean the air we breathe by filtering toxins. Learn how amazing living air purifiers do what they do and why you should grow an assortment of your own.
February 1, 2019 - "Making the Kitchen Blossom when your Garden is Sleeping"
Presented by Corporate Chef, Andrew Curtis Forlines, who will host the Garden Club at the Specialty Appliance test kitchens in Greenwood Village. Chef Andrew is a 5 star Broadmoor Chef who knows his way around the kitchen in all seasons. He will tell us how to spice up our winter cuisines, with a Valentine's theme. Heavy appetizers, wine and beer are included. The program will be from 5:30-8:30 pm. Spouses are welcome, up to 120 people may attend.
March 1, 2019 - "Fire Mitigation as an Essential of Spring Clean Up in the Pines"
Presented by Einar Jensen, Risk Reduction Specialist and Susan Rule, owner of Rampart Landscape and Arbor Services, an expert on fire mitigation in the Village. Susan and Einar will give us tips on how to get our properties in shape for another Colorado wildfire season. They will provide us a list of what to look for on our properties and how to address identified fire concerns, without destroying the natural beauty that is Castle Pines.
April 5, 2019 - "Growing Lavender in the Rocky Mountain Climate Zone"
Presented by Jennifer Trunce, Manager of Horticulture at the DBG Chatfield Farms. Members will join Jennifer to learn about the 5 year ongoing research into Lavender growing in Colorado. She will give us 'best varieties' and tips on where, when and how to cultivate lavender in the Pines. Jennifer is also responsible for the annual and perennial beds at Chatfield and has promised a guided tour of all the gardens by the horticulture staff at Chatfield.
