October 11,2019 “Ask The Experts” is a panel discussion centering around Putting your Garden and Trees to Bed for the Winter. Panel participants are Susan Rule, owner of Rampart Landscaping, Teri Hensen landscape architect and owner of Teri Hensen Design, and Will Skelton owner of Butterfly Landscape LLC. The comments from the panel participants and their discussion will cover the ‘how to’ of winterizing our garden beds, trees and shrubs, and winter watering and winterizing our irrigation systems. Members will be able to get all their questions addressed on preparing our yards for the upcoming winter season in the garden.

January 10, 2020 Harriet McMillan will present a program on Xeriscaping our Castle Pines gardens and the ‘how to’ of planning and executing the perfect Xeriscape design. Harriet is also well versed in the Colorado Plant Select planting options to maximize our garden success in the challenging Castle Pines growing conditions. Ms. McMillan has been affiliated with Echter’s Landscape in Arvada since 1990. She is known for her Xeriscape designs and was an early adapter of the Plant Select program for Colorado and the front range.
February 7, 2020 Our friends from the Denver Botanical Gardens at Chatfield Farms will give us best practice tips on growing and drying herbs and spices in our containers and garden. Make your summer cuisine sizzle with your abundant offering of freshly grown herbs and spices. Our presenters will be Jennifer Trunce, Manager of Horticulture at Chatfield Farms and one of her staff horticulturalists, Cassie Doolittle. They are a wealth of knowledge to insure our herb and spice gardening success.
March 6, 2020 Denver Botanical Gardens horticulturalists will speak to us on our Rocky Mountain pollinators and their importance to our gardens. They will also suggest plants that attract pollinators and enhance their buzz.
April 3, 2020 Luan Akin, Tagawa Garden Center Community Ambassador, will teach us the WOW of container garden. Whether your pots are your garden, or an accent to your garden or home entry , Luan will give us tips on how to compose the perfect design and color selection to make our entry or patio containers pop. She will give us useful tips on selecting and planting floral combinations to delight visitors to our homes all season long.
